School Information

Buildwas Academy is set in a traditional Victorian building in the beautiful countryside close to the Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage Site and Ironbridge Museums. Our position, overlooking the River Severn, adds to the charm.

Our school has a strong tradition, educating children since 1855, using the community and extensive local resources provided by the local and wide Shropshire area.

We are committed to ensuring that all children develop their full potential in a caring, happy, well-organised environment, in which enjoyment of learning, and attitudes of mutual respect and responsibility are promoted.  We aim to ensure that children have a broad and balanced curriculum, that work excites and enthuses the children, ensuring that each week brings new experiences so staff and pupils enjoy their days at Buildwas.

Children are taught in 3 classrooms including a 12 place nursery. We offer education for 3 – 11 year olds within the Buildwas, Leighton and Eaton Constantine parishes and the surrounding Telford & Wrekin and Shropshire areas.

If you are interested in your child joining our school or our purpose-built school nursery, then please give us a ring or pop into school for an application form and further information. Your child can start nursery at the start of the term after they are 3 years old. If you have any questions or need any further information, please do not hesitate to contact us.
